Quiet walks to soothe your soul

, on

I was privileged recently to be asked to guest blog for Julia Bradbury’s site, The Outdoor Guide. Now you may have heard me once or twice mention that my forthcoming book is called Quiet Walks for Quiet Minds, so I chose five of my favourite* trails less trodden across south Wales as a little preview.

newport-sandsThese walks are among my go-to soul soothers; the quiet corners I head to in order to celebrate the good days and to clear my mind when ‘life’ gets a little too much. The full routes aren’t outlined (you’ll have to wait for the book for that!) but with an OS map, a sense of adventure and the all-essential flask of tea, you can hopefully use them as a starting point for a soothing stroll of your own.

So please pop over to The Outdoor Guide, have a little read and start planning your next escape!

* When I say ‘favourite’, I do, of course, mean ‘completed’. Because, in the spirit of maintaining tradition, the book is ever-so-slightly behind schedule…

  1. Cwm Nash is a wonderful walk, I love that area. Chough, Fulmur, Peregrine, and a beautiful coastline and beaches.
